Douglas McConnell and Don Macdonald are a team who have conquered the English Channel, the Catalina Channel, the circumnavigation of the Island of Manhattan and, in the summer of 2016, Hawii’s Ka’iwi Channel, the Channel of Bones. As Chicagoans, they are ushering in the Chicago River’s first open water swimming event, The Chicago River Swim.
